Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible through early Wednesday morning across parts of northeast Texas into western Tennessee. Read More >

 

April 2022 was cooler and drier than normal across eastern Kentucky.  Jackson averaged

56.7 degrees which made April 2022 one and a half degrees below normal. The London

Corbin Airport finished April 2022 with an average of 55.2 degrees which was nearly two

degrees cooler than normal. Jackson picked up 3.60 inches of precipitation during April

which is nearly one inch below normal. London totaled 4.20 inches which is close to a 

half an inch drier than normal. Climate data for Jackson dates back to 1981 while weather 

records began in 1954 at London.
