Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. FLOYD...EAST CENTRAL BREATHITT AND SOUTHEASTERN MAGOFFIN COUNTIES
THROUGH 900 PM EDT...

At 831 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Elmrock, or 9 miles north of Hindman, moving east
at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
East McDowell, Melvin, Dry Creek, Raven, Bosco, Mousie, Vail, Hippo,
Handshoe, Hi Hat, Gunlock, Estill, Glo, Printer, Langley, Kite,
Wheelwright, McDowell, Burton, and Larkslane.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
Kentucky Highway 80 in Floyd County between mile markers 1 and 7.
Kentucky Highway 80 in Knott County between mile markers 10 and 20.
