Hawaii and Guam Concerns; Severe Weather for the Plains; Heavy Snow for Sierra-Nevada

Heavy rainfall capable of causing flash flooding will continue to impact Hawaii through Monday. Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible in parts of Texas and the southern Plains and the Upper Great Lakes. Freeze Watch in effect for much of the area from 11 PM Thursday until 8 AM Friday. This includes NE CA, the Surprise Valley, N Washoe county, the greater Reno-Carson City-Minden area, W NV Basin and Range (including Pyramid Lake), and S Lyon and Mineral counties.
Generally fair weather with chilly mornings are expected this week. This afternoon a few light snow showers are likely in the Eastern Sierra, mainly over Mono county. Another storm system arrives by Wednesday bringing valley rain and mountain snow along with gusty winds. More cool temperatures are expected to finish the work week. Another system is possible by Sunday into Monday next week.
