Tropical Storm Imelda Forms; Another Round of Heavy Rain and Potential Flooding in the Southwest

Tropical Storm Imelda has formed near the Bahamas Sunday afternoon, and continues to bring heavy rainfall. The risk of significant wind impacts from Imelda along the Southeast coast are decreasing. A Coastal Flood Statement remains in effect for the Middle and Lower Keys!
For the Advisory: Saltwater flooding of low elevation streets and lots is expected. Some storm drains will overflow, and some seawalls and docks will be overtopped. Boaters can expect less clearance under fixed bridges. Motorists should remember that persistent puddles around the times of high tide are almost certain to contain a mix of saltwater.

Seas 3 to 5 feet, occasionally to 6 feet, subsiding to 2 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet in the Florida Straits. Seas 3 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet, subsiding to 2 to 3 feet for the Deep Gulf waters. Scattered to numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms.
