Today, hazy sun & hot with highs in the 90s. Heat indices 91 to 101, highest in the Red River valley. There is chance for a few showers or t-storms tonight, mainly west of the Red River. Chances increase all areas on Thursday into Thursday night before moving out Friday.
General thunderstorm chances will increase thru today, highest in southeast North Dakota and west central Minnesota. There is a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening with the main hazards winds to 60 mph and hail to quarter size. Thunderstorms will be capable of localized heavy rainfall. But is must be noted, that the strong to severe storms and pockets of heavy rain will not be widespread.
