Dangerous Cold Persists through Monday; Wintry Weather from the Northern Plains to the Great Lakes

Bitter cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills will persist from Florida to the Northeast through Monday. Daily record low temperatures are forecast across the Southeast and Florida, with some all-time February low temperature records possible across Florida. A cold front will bring strong east winds to the region Wednesday morning. It will be breezy most areas with areas of locally windy conditions along the west facing slopes of area mountains. Winds will also be stronger for areas west of Deming along and west of the Continental Divide. Winds will subside later Wednesday afternoon.
Extended Precipitation Outlook
A cold front will push across the region Tuesday night and our high temperatures will be cooler on Wednesday. High temperatures will run a little below average east of the Rio Grande and a little above average west of the river. The winds, behind the front will be breezy to windy and gusty, especially along the western slopes of area mountains.
