Heavy Rain and Flash Flooding Concerns in California; Heavy Snow in the Sierra

An atmospheric river will bring heavy rainfall to lower elevations of California this week, and heavy snow to the Sierra Nevada mountains. Flash flooding, some of which may be locally considerable, will be a concern on the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains through Tuesday. NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) is provided as a public service by the Department of Commerce's (DoC) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

NWR broadcasts National Weather Service warnings, watches, forecasts and other hazard information 24 hours a day.

The goal of the National Weather Service and other emergency preparedness agencies is to expand the reach of weather radio broadcasts to 95 percent of the U.S. population.
