2026 NWS Aberdeen Spotter Training |
The class will cover many topics including: weather safety, thunderstorm development, identifying different storm features, and how to report to the National Weather Service. Even as new technology allows the National Weather Service to issue warnings with greater lead time, spotters will always serve as a critical link between Doppler radar indications of severe weather and what’s actually happening on the ground. Anyone with an interest in weather or weather safety is encouraged to attend. All training is free and usually lasts around 2 hours.
Our office will host live virtual training sessions which will be added to the calendar soon.
