
An atmospheric river will bring heavy rainfall to lower elevations of California this week, and heavy snow to the Sierra Nevada mountains. Flash flooding, some of which may be locally considerable, will be a concern on the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains through Tuesday. Seeing hazy or smoky skies? Smoke from wildfires in far western North America will continue to drift across the region this weekend. At this time, it appears the smoke will stay aloft and not mix down to the surface over Upper Michigan this weekend.
