Summary
====================================================================
2017 at Pine Bluff was the coolest year in two years in terms of
average high, low and annual temperature.
In terms of departure from normal, the warmest months (relative to
average) were February and January, and the coolest months were
June and August. By the actual temperatures, though, December was
the coolest and July was the warmest.
There were no 100-degree temperatures for the second year in a row.
The number of days with lows at or below freezing was the fewest in
five years.
For the first time in three years, annual rainfall was below average,
albeit just barely. The wettest months were August and May, and the
driest months were during the fall, with October and November over
four inches below average.
Snowfall was below average for the first time in four years (since
2013). As was the case last year, all measurable snow that fell in
2017 came from one storm...which was on January 6th. There was a
brief period of sleet on December 27th. Otherwise, there was no
other snowfall during the year.
Below are averages and extremes observed during the year.
