Last Map Update: Mon, Sep 16, 2024 at 3:09:07 pm CDT

Forecast for Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Gulfport will include continued scattered showers/storms both Monday and Tuesday, drying out mid to late-week with seasonal temps with highs generally in the mid 80's to low 90's and lows in the low 70's.
Use caution after storms! If you evacuated, only return home when directed it's safe to do so. Remain vigilant, as hazards remain: heat, downed powerlines, floodwaters, & more. Clean up safely: don't push yourself, and check on neighbors. Only use generators outdoors, 20 plus feet from your home. Prepare for the likelihood that help and communications may not be available!
More people died in Louisiana from carbon monoxide poisoning following Hurricanes Laura and Ida than from the direct impacts of the storms. If you've lost power and will be using a generator PLEASE make sure your generator is at least 20 ft from any windows, doors, or a/c intakes, and that you have a working carbon monoxide detector!
