Today's Records and Climate Data

A Heat Advisory will remain in effect across our entire Four-State Region through at least Monday, as afternoon heat indices will average between 105 to 109 degrees each day. Heed all heat safety protocols if you plan to spend extended time outdoors!

Worsening drought conditions and shifting winds will contribute to increased fire danger Today across the entire Four State Region. Follow burn guidance of local officials, as several counties/parishes are currently under burn bans.

Many locations approached, reached or eclipsed 100 degrees for high temperatures on Friday including Shreveport, Louisiana and Longview Texas which both saw their hottest days so far this Summer. For Shreveport, it was the city's first 100 degree day this Summer. There is more where that came from with even hotter temperatures forecast this weekend into early next week.

Most all areas across the Four State Region will likely see triple digit heat this afternoon with highs ranging from near 100 to near 103 degrees. Look for late morning and afternoon heat indices to range between 105 and 109 degrees.

With oppressive heat expected to continue through much of this week, remember these heat safety tips.
