Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Dry and increasingly hot this week and this weekend. Moderate HeatRisk impacts are forecast to develop late this week into the weekend with near record highs possible over portions of the interior, reaching the mid 90s. Daily sea breezes will keep immediate coastal communities in the mid to upper 80s.
There is a Moderate Risk for rip currents at all central Florida Atlantic beaches, including the Race Coast (Volusia), Space coast (Brevard) and Treasure coast (Indian River, Saint Lucie and Martin).
