Near record high temperatures for mid-August are expected on Wednesday. Skies will range from sunny to partly cloudy for the lowlands, while the Sacramento Mountains and Gila National Forest will see a chance for afternoon thunderstorms.
A new high pressure system over the Four Corners will bring near record high temperatures (relative to mid-to-late August) for the Borderland for the foreseeable future.
Warm to hot temperatures are projected to last for the rest of August as high pressure sits over the region.
Stay cool and hydrated during this late-season heat wave.
