Heavy Rain and Flash Flooding in the West; Heat Expands in the Central U.S.

Monsoonal moisture will produce showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain over parts of the Southwest, Great Basin, and Central Rockies through Monday. Flash flooding is possible, especially in and around burn scars and in areas of steep terrain. We are not currently seeking any college students to volunteer at our office at this time.

The goal of our Student Volunteer Program is to allow the volunteer to gain practical experience and beneficial knowledge in the operations of a National Weather Service (NWS) Forecast Office. Student volunteers with the NWS office in Boulder will learn how to forecast in complex terrain, how to use the latest tools and technology in the forecast, and how to best communicate the forecast to key decision makers from across Colorado.
