Record Heat for the Intermountain West and Northern Plains; Heavy Rainfall and Severe Weather Threats

Record setting heat is expected over the next several days from the Intermountain West through the northern Plains. Furthermore, fire weather concerns increase with dry and breezy conditions. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorm threats for the Ohio/Tennessee Valleys, central Appalachians and Southeast today. Here are the IP and URL address of the file servers of the Gateway you can access for downloading the many data and forecast products received by the Telecommunication Gateway.

See description of file names above. All "new" TOC File Name Standards are used under the SL.us008001 sub-directory name.

  1. The UNIX(AIX) file servers that use the "new" subdirectory and file naming standard are accessible via anonymous FTP over the Internet.
  2. The current IP address is tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001
  3. The password is: (anything you like ¹ )

See description of file names above. All Files of selectable observations and forecasts are found under the data sub-directory name.
