Unsettled Weather in the Eastern U.S. through Memorial Day

Showers and thunderstorms are expected from Texas to the Northeast through Tuesday. Heavy rain will create mainly localized areas of flash flooding across the central Gulf Coast into the Appalachians. The Paducah National Weather Service office issued its first official fire weather forecast on the morning of February 14, 2000. The Paducah area of responsibility includes the Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois, parts of the Mark Twain National Forest in southeast Missouri, and The Land Between The Lakes Area in West Kentucky.
