Regional Outbreaks of Severe Weather Through Early Next Week; Early Season Heat Wave across the South

Active spring pattern across the center of our nation with several episodes of severe weather and heavy rainfall expected into next week. The potential for very large hail, long track tornadoes, severe wind gusts, frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes and flash flooding are in the outlook. Repairs and calibration of the Paducah (KPAH) WSR-88D Doppler radar have been completed. As a result, the radar is considered fully operational at this time. We would like to thank the folks from the NWS Radar Operations Center who worked long hours to get the radar back up ahead of the May 11 target date. We appreciate your patience and understanding during the radar outage.
