Prolonged Atmospheric River Will Impact the Northwest Early this Week

A weather system in the Pacific Northwest will produce rain throughout the day, before a potent atmospheric river produces a prolonged round of heavy rainfall, widespread urban and river flooding, and high elevation snow to the region Monday through Wednesday. NWS Memphis Weather-Ready Classes

 

Each spring and fall the National Weather Service in Memphis conducts weather safety and preparedness training sessions. The class is free and open to everyone and typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Registration is only required for the virtual classes. The following topics will be covered in the class:

  • Weather Safety and Preparedness
  • Thunderstorms & Severe Weather Information
  • Other Common Weather Hazards in the Mid-South
  • Weather Monitoring and Resources
