Regional Outbreaks of Severe Weather Through Early Next Week; Early Season Heat Wave across the South

Active spring pattern across the center of our nation with several episodes of severe weather and heavy rainfall expected into next week. The potential for very large hail, long track tornadoes, severe wind gusts, frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes and flash flooding are in the outlook. NWS Memphis Weather-Ready Classes

 

Each spring and fall the National Weather Service in Memphis conducts weather safety and preparedness training sessions. The class is free and open to everyone and typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Registration is only required for the virtual classes. The following topics will be covered in the class:

  • Important NWS Terminology 
  • Weather Safety and Preparedness
  • Thunderstorms & Severe Weather Information
  • Other Common Weather Hazards in the Mid-South
  • Weather Monitoring and Resources
