Dangerous to record breaking heat will build across the center of the nation and slowly build eastward this week. Wildfire conditions remain critical for the Southwest and portions of the Great Basin through Monday. It's no surprise, but western Nebraska experienced one wet summer. North Platte (airport) recorded its 4th wettest June-July-August dating to 1875, while Valentine was nearly 3.5" above normal. Temperatures were more seasonable overall as warm overnight lows balanced out fairly mild daytime highs.
