A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. It's no surprise, but western Nebraska experienced one wet summer. North Platte (airport) recorded its 4th wettest June-July-August dating to 1875, while Valentine was nearly 3.5" above normal. Temperatures were more seasonable overall as warm overnight lows balanced out fairly mild daytime highs.
