Areas of Heavy to Excessive Rainfall and Hot Temperatures This Week

Heavy to excessive rainfall could bring areas of flooding at times Monday through Thursday across parts of the central Plains into the Midwest as well as southern Arizona and New Mexico. Scattered showers and thunderstorms return Thursday through Saturday. Hazards will include localized strong winds, hail, and downpours in addition to lightning. Be ready to seek shelter if outdoors and have multiple ways to receive warnings.
Temperatures will largely be on the warmer side of average through the beginning of next week. Thunderstorms return Thursday and Friday ahead of a drying trend through the weekend.
