Attention hunters and backcountry travelers: We're tracking two separate systems for the mountains this week. First System (Wed-Thu): This will be the warmer system, with rain in the valleys and snow levels generally above 5,500 feet. Second System (Thu Night-Fri): This system will be colder. Snow levels are expected to drop to around 4,500 feet, which will bring chances for snow and slush to some mountain passes. Plan for winter driving conditions on backcountry roads. A road that is just wet on Wednesday could be slick and snow-covered by Friday. Pack your emergency gear and be prepared for cold, wet conditions
