Snow in the Rockies; Showers and Thunderstorms Along the Gulf Coast; Potential Winter Storm for Northern Mid-Atlantic and Interior New England

A winter-like pattern will continue over much of the Lower 48 over the next few days, with snow stretching from the Rockies today into the Middle Mississippi Valley on Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along the Gulf Coast and Southeast on Monday. Overview

The remnants of Tropical Cyclone Beryl moved across Indiana on July 9 into early July 10. The system brought a tornado, heavy rain, and gusty winds to central Indiana.

Summary: Eyewitness accounts indicate a brief and weak tornado was skipping across this area with damage noted in two locations. A few trees were down across Dover Hill Road and also on Killion Mill Rd. Pictures also showed a funnel cloud southeast of Loogootee but no damage has been reported from that area as of this time. The NWS Indianapolis office would like to thank the Martin County EMA for their help in determining this tornado path and rating.

Environment

The remnants of Tropical Cyclone Beryl brought a very moist atmosphere along with plentiful shear to the area. Instability near the surface warm front along with the front itself aided in producing tornadic thunderstorms.
