Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Overview

An upper level system brought snow to central Indiana during the evening of January 31 and into the morning hours of February 1. Up to nearly 6 inches of snow fell. Freezing drizzle after the snow ended added to the slick conditions from the snow. The morning commute was very slow and treacherous.
