Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. NWS Indy meteorologists will be at this year's Celebrate Science Indiana, which will be at the Indiana State Fairgrounds iin the Elements Pavilion on October 14. Hours are from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM EDT. While there is no cost to attend the event, there is a $10 charge for parking at the State Fairgrounds.

Celebrate Science Indiana, Indiana’s Premier Science Festival, is a public event that demonstrates the importance of studying science and the joy of discovery, the economic value of science, and its significance to society. For all age groups and for individuals from all walks of life, science impacts our daily lives, and the event aims to encourage young Hoosiers to pursue exciting, rewarding careers in science.
