A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. NWS Indianapolis would like to congratulate Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). IMS has been recognized by the National Weather Service as a 2022 Weather Ready Nation (WRN) Ambassador of Excellence. WRN Ambassadors of Excellence are those WRN Ambassadors who have made significant contributions to helping NWS build a Weather Ready Nation.
IMS' collaborations with NWS Indianapolis, other local, state, and federal public safety officials, and the community at large, as well as their attention to public safety during inclement weather, have distinguished them as a change agent and force multiplier in the community to move the NWS vision of a Weather Ready Nation forward. IMS became a Weather Ready Nation Ambassador in July 2017, but has been collaborating closely with NWS and other public safety officials long before that time.
