Each morning, we create graphics for observed temperatures, precipitation, and snowfall over the last 24 hours. The graphic styles themselves have not been updated in a number of years, and were showing their age. We've updated the mappings to use a cleaner look, including more standardized color bars that match other graphics used by the NWS. A listing of observed values remains in place next to each map. The historical archive remains in place, and we tried to keep the naming conventions of the pages and images so you would not need to change your bookmarks.
Check out the new maps at https://www.weather.gov/ilx/illinois-daily . They update each daily around 11:30 am.
