February Precipitation Highlights:

• An active storm track continued through the Midwest and brought above normal precipitation to much of central from I-55 west and in southeast IL in February. A bit below normal precipitation occurred over parts of east central IL east of I-55 and north of I-70.   Unlike mid to late January, most of the weather systems brought rain instead of snow to the area, so snowfall amounts were generally below normal by a few inches during February with many areas south of I-72 getting less than 1 inch of snow.

February Temperature Highlights:

• Temperatures during Feb 2019 were a few degrees below normal from I-55 west, while near normal east of I-55 and
  even a bit above normal over the Wabash river valley in southeast IL. Unlike mid to late January, most areas did not
  get below zero during February.

Winter 2018-2019 (December through February) Climate Information:

• Precipitation was well above normal.  Several sites were in their top 10 wettest winter.
• Snowfall was above normal north of a Jacksonville to Decatur line.  Snowfall was below normal in eastern Illinois.
• Temperatures were near normal for much of central and western Illinois.  Temperatures were 1-2 degrees above normal for eastern and southern Illinois.
