Cold Front Moving Through the Northeast U.S. Monday; Atmospheric River to Impact the Pacific Northwest Midweek

A cold front will cross the Great Lakes and Northeast U.S. through Monday with gusty winds and areas of rain showers. A strong atmospheric river is expected to move into the Pacific Northwest by midweek bringing a threat for moderate to heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and mountain snows for parts of Washington, Oregon, northern California, and the Sierra Nevada. Bruce Underwood and WGSV owner Kerry Jackson Receive Award For 50 Years of Service

On July 10th, 2008, Mr. Bruce Underwood and WGSV/WTWX station owner Mr. Kerry Jackson were recognized for 50 years of service. Mr. Bruce Underwood rising before 4:00 AM each morning, has been reporting temperature and rainfall data recorded at WGSV in Guntersville since May 10, 1958. Radio station WGSV-AM/WTWX-FM has carried on the tradition of recording important temperature and rainfall information that began when a COOP site was first established in Guntersville February 1, 1900.
