Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Overview

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms moved into the region Sunday afternoon, spreading eastwards into the evening hours. The event consisted mostly of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for large hail and strong winds, but a couple tornado warnings were issued near Huron, SD. 

Another round of thunderstorms occurred in the early morning hours on Monday, with the main threat with those storms being large hail.
