Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Many locations in southeast South Dakota & southwest Minnesota set a new record for annual precipitation in 2019. Some of these locations broke their previous record by several inches. For a select few (Canton, Sioux Falls, and Worthington), the previous record was established just 1 year earlier, in 2018!
