Locally Heavy Rainfall for the Carolinas; Thunderstorms and Fire Weather Concerns for Intermountain West

Heavy rainfall from scattered thunderstorms is expected across the Southwest, Intermountain West, and Plains. Isolated dry thunderstorms may initiate additional fires across the west. The coastal Carolinas may experience flash floods in the coming days due to repeated thunderstorms. Madison SD Tornado Damage

A tornado, rated F2 on the Fujita Scale (wind speeds approximately 113-157 mph), hit the Madison area Tuesday evening, July 11, 2000 at approximately 5:55 PM CDT. The main area that received damage was the Lake County Speedway. Below are some pictures of the tornado damage at the Speedway.
