Frigid Airmass to Bring Significantly Colder Temperatures; Snow Continues Downwind of the Great Lakes

NWS Amarillo Facebook Photo Competition

Do you like showing the beauty of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles and the many types of weather it gets? If so, now’s your chance! From now through June 23rd, you can submit your best photos to our Facebook page for the chance to have your photo voted as the best. The photo with the most likes and shares will not only have bragging rights for winning the competition but will have the chance of either being used in our weekly planner or used as the Facebook cover photo.  

 

Guidelines:

 

  1. To submit photos, simply post them to our Facebook timeline with a brief description  (date, location, etc).  Photos must be your own! Photos taken by others, overly photo-shopped images, and copyrighted photos by others will not be accepted.
  2. The deadline for submittal is 1159 PM CDT on June 23rd.
  3. On June 24th, the top 5 photos chosen by NWS Amarillo staff will be posted to the Facebook page to be voted on. To vote, simply “like and share” the photo before 11:59 PM CDT June 30th.
  4. The photo with the most likes and shares will be declared the winner on July 1st.
  5. With permission of the photographer, the winning photo will be used in our weekly planner or as the NWS Amarillo's Facebook cover photo.
