A cooler air mass will move into the region behind a cold front on Monday, with a 50 to 70 percent chance of frost developing in the pre-dawn hours on Tuesday morning. This will be the first frost of the season for many of the lower valleys of western Montana and north-central Idaho. Low-lying areas and sheltered valleys will have the highest probability of seeing frost, especially in rural areas away from the relatively warmer urban centers. Now is the time to begin preparations for the end of the growing season. Those with gardens or sensitive vegetation should consider taking measures to protect their plants from the impending frost.
We're looking at a stretch of dry weather with warm afternoons perfect for getting outdoors. However, you'll definitely feel a chill in the air during the mornings! Here's what to expect: ☀️ Warm Afternoons: Above normal temperatures each afternoon, reaching into the low to mid 80s for many valleys. 🥶 Crisp Mornings: Temperatures will drop overnight, leading to chilly mornings with the potential for patchy frost. 🌫️ Morning Fog: Localized valley fog could develop each morning, potentially reducing visibility. 💨 Hazy Skies: Smoke from regional wildfires will likely create hazy skies at times.
