Forecast/Future Precipitation

These Quantitative Precipitation Forecasts (QPFs) are produced by the Hydrometeorological Analysis and Support Forecasters (HAS) at the SERFC. River forecasts issued by the SERFC include 48 hours of forecast rainfall.  This QPF is also used as input to the National Significant River Flood Outlooks.    However, when creating the daily Significant Flood Outlook Maps, the HAS forecasters and hydrologists at the SERFC use the 5 day forecast issued by the Weather Prediction Center (WPC) as guidance when deciding whether an area might receive significant flooding.
