REPORTING ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE YEAR
WAS 50.2 DEGREES...WHICH IS 2.3 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.  SPRING MARKED THE
BEGINNING OF A WET YEAR FOR PUEBLO...HELPING THE ANNUAL PRECIPITATION REACH
AN AMOUNT 3 INCHES ABOVE THE 30 YEAR AVERAGE.  1997 WAS ALSO A SNOWY YEAR
FOR PUEBLO...WITH AN ANNUAL SNOWFALL AMOUNT NEARLY 14 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL.

HOWEVER...THE MONTH COOLED RAPIDLY AND THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE OF THE

PRECIPITATION TO FALL IN 24 HOURS OVER THE ENTIRE YEAR WAS 1.27 INCHES ON
THE 23RD AND 24TH.
.MAY...COOL AND DRY WITH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND PRECIPITATION.  THE
START OF THE GROWING SEASON WAS MARKED WITH THE LAST FREEZE ON THE 3RD.
.JUNE...COOL AND WET WITH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND ABOVE NORMAL
PRECIPITATION. WINDY WITH A PEAK GUST OF 59 MPH FROM THE NORTH ON THE 20TH.
.JULY...COOLER THAN USUAL AND DRY WITH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND
PRECIPITATION. HOWEVER...THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE OF THE YEAR WAS 102
DEGREES REPORTED ON THE 17TH. ALSO WINDY WITH A PEAK GUST OF 59 MPH FROM
THE SOUTHEAST ON THE 7TH.
.AUGUST...COOL AND WET WITH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND ABOVE AVERAGE
PRECIPITATION.
.SEPTEMBER...AN AVERAGE SEPTEMBER WITH NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND
