       THE MONTH BELOW NORMAL.  LOW OF 6 DEGREES ON THE 3RD IS
       THE COLDEST DAY OF THE YEAR.
  FEB...VERY WARM AND DRY WITH THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE
       6.1 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.   ONLY .3 INCH OF SNOW V/S NORMAL 
       OF 7.1 INCHES
  MAR..CONTINUED WARM AND ALMOST DRY AS THE NORMAL MARCH

       OF RAIN (Normal 1.19), AND 17.6 INCHES OF SNOW (NORMAL 4.5)
  MAY...THE DELUGE CONTINUES WITH 3.57 INCHES OF RAIN (NORMAL 2.15)
        BUT LESS SNOW ONLY .3 V/S THE NORMAL 2.5 INCHES.  APRIL-MAY
        FLOOD DAMAGE AROUND 16 MILLION  DOLLARS IN COLORADO
        SPRINGS ALONE. TOTAL RAINFALL AT THE END OF MAY IS 11.65
        INCHES, MORE THAN DOUBLE THE NORMAL 4. 97 INCHES.
  JUN...SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES, AND A CHANCE TO DRY
       OUT AS RAINFALL TOTALS ONLY 1.36 INCHES.. NORMAL 2.25 INCHES.
  JUL...NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND THE RAINS RETURN.  THUNDER-
       STORMS ON 19 DAYS DROP 4.70 INCHES OF RAIN..NORMAL 2.90.
  AUG...SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES, WITH 7.40 INCHES OF
       WELL OVER NORMAL FOR THE MONTH   THIS AUGUST IS NOW THE
       2ND WETTEST AUGUST ON RECORD.
  SEP...COOL AND DRY WITH THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE 3
        DEGREES BELOW NORMAL, AND LESS THAN ONE-HALF OF THE
        NORMAL RAIN FOR THE MONTH
  OCT...SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES, RAINFALL AND SNOW
       INDIAN SUMMER IS IN PLACE.
  NOV...A MONTH OF CONTRASTS.  AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE IS
       7 DEGREES HIGHER THAN NORMAL. PRECIPITATION OF 1.01 INCH
       WELL ABOVE NORMAL .47 INCHES.  10.6 INCHES OF SNOW IS JUST
       DOUBLE THE MONTHLY NORMAL
 DEC...WITH .20 PRECIPITATION, DECEMBER ENDS THE YEAR WITH A
       TOTAL OF 27.58 INCHES, AND BECOMES THE WETTEST YEAR OF
       THE 1900'S.   THE OLD RECORD WAS 25.43 INCHES IN 1965.
       AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS 3.8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL,
       BUT 2.3 INCHES OF SNOW IS WELL BELOW NORMAL OF 10.2 INCHES.
