JAN...THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS 24.2 DEGREES...WHICH WAS   
      9.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THIS WAS THE FIFTH WARMEST JANUARY  
      ON RECORD.  PRECIPITATION WAS BELOW NORMAL...ALTHOUGH SNOWFALL 
      THE LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH TOTALED 3 INCHES AT ALAMOSA AND 5   
      INCHES AT MONTE VISTA. 
FEB...IT WAS ANOTHER WARM MONTH...WITH THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE 6.9   
      DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION ONLY OCCURRED  
      ON ONE DAY. IT WAS THE EIGHTH WARMEST FEBRUARY ON RECORD AND   
      THE SECOND DRIEST SINCE 1932.  
MAR...THE TEMPERATURE AND WATER EQUIVALENT PRECIPITATION WERE ABOVE  
      NORMAL...BUT SNOWFALL WAS BELOW NORMAL. A WINTER STORM AT      
      THE END OF THE MONTH BROUGHT 5 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW IN THE      
      ALAMOSA AREA...AND 16 INCHES OF SNOW AROUND MONTE VISTA. 
APR...THE TEMPERATURE AND WATER EQUIVALENT PRECIPITATION WERE AGAIN  
      ABOVE NORMAL...BUT ONLY 2/10THS OF AN INCH OF SNOW             
      FELL...COMPARED TO A NORMAL OF 4 INCHES. STRONG WINDS ON THE   
      18TH SPREAD A WILD FIRE OVER APPROXIMATELY 5000 ACRES NEAR THE 
      GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL MONUMENT. 
MAY...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 3.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...BUT     
      PRECIPITATION REMAINED WELL BELOW NORMAL. 
JUN...THE WARM DRY TREND CONTINUED.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE         
      WAS 1.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...AND PRECIPITATION WAS 0.13      
      INCHES BELOW NORMAL. 
JUL...IT WAS A MONTH FEATURING NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES...BUT VERY   
      DRY CONDITIONS...WITH ONLY ABOUT 1/3 OF AN INCH OF RAIN. 
AUG...THE TEMPERATURE WAS 2.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...WITH            
      PRECIPITATION JUST A BIT BELOW NORMAL.  
SEP...THE WARMER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL PATTERN CONTINUED. 
OCT...THE TEMPERATURE WAS NORMAL FOR THE MONTH...AND A CONSIDERABLE  
      AMOUNT OF PRECIPITATION FELL...1.26 INCHES...COMPARED TO A     
      NORMAL 0.70 INCHES. 
NOV...A COLD WEATHER PATTERN SETTLED IN...WITH THE TEMPERATURE MORE  
      THAN 5 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.  IT WAS THE SIXTH COLDEST         
      NOVEMBER ON RECORD. PRECIPITATION WAS BELOW NORMAL. 
DEC...THE TEMPERATURE REBOUNDED TO AVERAGE 4.3 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. 
      IT WAS ANOTHER DRY MONTH WITH 25 PERCENT OF THE NORMAL         
      PRECIPITATION.
