Major Winter Storm to Impact the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Inclement Weather in the Pacific Northwest

A major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast that may cause impossible travel conditions and power outages. Blizzard conditions are possible along coastal areas from the DelMarVa Peninsula through southeastern New England. Subject: Change to Service Frequency of Forecasts for
              Arkansas River Forecast Points in Colorado
              Downstream of Pueblo Dam

 

The National Weather Service will begin providing daily forecasts
for flood only river forecast points on the Arkansas River in
Colorado downstream of Pueblo Dam. This change will be effective 
April 1, 2024. River forecasts will change from "Flood Only"
to "Daily Forecasts" for the following river forecast points:

- Arkansas River near Avondale, CO (ADLC2)
- Arkansas River near Nepesta, CO (NPTC2)
- Arkansas River near Rocky Ford, CO (ARCC2)
- Arkansas River at La Junta, CO (LXHC2)

River observations and daily forecasts for these points will be
available on the new NWPS web site, beginning April 1, 2024, at: 
https://www.water.noaa.gov
