At Chicago, the average high temperature was 64.7 degrees, which is 2.0 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was 49.4 degrees, which is 4.0 degrees above normal. The average temperature for the month was 57.1 degrees, which is 3.1 degrees above normal. 2.28 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded, which is 1.15 inches below normal. 0.9 inches of snow were recorded, which is 0.7 inches above normal. The following daily records were set for Chicago during the month of October 2023: * Record maximum temperature of 83 degrees on the 24th. * Record highest minimum temperature of 65 degrees on the 26th. The following top ten monthly records were also established for Chicago: **10th snowiest October on record since 1872 with 0.9 inches. At Rockford, the average high temperature was 62.9 degrees, which is 0.6 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was 42.8 degrees, which is 1.0 degrees above normal.
