Overview

July 2024 featured active weather during the middle of the month with flash flooding, damaging winds, and numerous tornadoes. Temperatures were near to slightly below normal across the area, and well above normal precipitation was observed, especially in the Rockford area, which saw one of its wettest July months on record.

Chicago and Rockford...

is 0.7 degrees below normal. The average low temperature was
66.2 degrees, which is 0.2 degrees below normal. The average
temperature for the month was 75.0 degrees, which is 0.4 degrees
below normal. 5.89 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded,
which is 2.18 inches above normal.

* Record daily precipitation of 1.60 inches on the 13th.

At Rockford, the average high temperature was 83.0 degrees, which
