At Chicago, the average high temperature was 84.6 degrees, which is 0.1 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was 66.7 degrees, which is 0.3 degrees above normal. The average temperature for the month was 75.7 degrees, which is 0.3 degrees above normal. 7.61 inches of precipitation were recorded, which is 3.90 inches above normal. The following daily records were set for Chicago during the month of July 2023: * Record precipitation of 3.35 inches on July 2nd. The following top ten monthly records were also established for Chicago: * Seventh wettest July on record with 7.61 inches of precipitation, surpassing 7.58 inches in July 1969. At Rockford, the average high temperature was 83.9 degrees, which is normal. The average low temperature was 61.5 degrees, which is 2.1 degrees below normal. The average temperature for the month was 72.7 degrees, which is 1.1 degrees below normal. 4.32 inches of precipitation were recorded, which is 0.51 inches above normal.
