A major weather system impacted the middle of the country during April 13-15.  For northern Illinois and northwest Indiana, this brought gusty winds, rain, and for far northern Illinois some snow and ice.  The effects of the snow and ice combined with the winds led to power outages near the Wisconsin line.  In addition, the strong winds from the northeast gusting over 40 mph brought high waves to the western and southern shores of Lake Michigan on Saturday, April 14.  These waves brought flooding to some lakeshore areas, including parts of the Chicago shore such as the bike path.
