A major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast that may cause impossible travel conditions and power outages. ...Flood Only Forecast Services to be Provided for the Little
River near Maryville TN...

On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, the National Weather Service in
Morristown, Tennessee and the Lower Mississippi River Forecast
Center in Slidell, Louisiana will begin providing flood-only
forecast services for the Little River near Maryville, Tennessee.

When forecasted precipitation is expected to result in the
potential for flooding on the Little River, the National Weather
Service will issue river stage forecasts and the appropriate river
flood warnings or statements. These forecasts, warnings, and
statements will be updated as needed.

River stage forecasts will not be issued during periods of normal
flows when flooding is not expected. The river stage forecasts
will only be issued when flooding is expected or occurring on the
Little River near Maryville.
