Temperatures which are 15-20 degrees above normal will continue through Saturday before a cold front brings cooler temperatures for Sunday into early next week. We'll have a couple chances for showers and storms over the next few days, mainly on Thursday and Saturday. Both days could feature a chance for a few strong to severe storms, and should bring some beneficial rainfall, although it is unlikely to be enough to get rid of drought conditions.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to approach the area from the west Thursday morning. If there is some clearing behind the early day rain and clouds, a conditional threat for a few strong storms which could produce gusty winds exists. At this time, this is a low-confidence threat, so stay tuned for updated forecasts over the next few days.
