A very strong low pressure system and associated cold front will bring a risk for strong non-thunderstorm wind gusts, severe storms, and heavy rainfall for Wednesday night and Thursday. Damaging winds and a few tornadoes are the main hazards possible.
The cold front will slowly move through the area on Thursday, which will lead to repeating rounds of heavy downpours and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms could be strong to severe across KY. Flash flooding is most likely across south-central KY.
