Regional Outbreaks of Severe Weather Through Early Next Week; Early Season Heat Wave across the South

Active spring pattern across the center of our nation with several episodes of severe weather and heavy rainfall expected into next week. The potential for very large hail, long track tornadoes, severe wind gusts, frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes and flash flooding are in the outlook. Unfortunately we are no longer able to generate the temperature and precipitation maps with the method we have been using for the past several years. We are working on finding another way to produce these maps each day. 

In the meantime, check the "News Headlines" section at the top of our main web page on days that a precipitation map is generated (using a method we're currently experimenting with). We usually post the maps sometime between 11am and noon Eastern Time when precipitation has occurred over approximately the previous 24 hours.
