Super Typhoon Bavi to Impact Guam and the Mariana Islands; Excessive Rainfall and Flooding Threat in the Mid-Atlantic

Catastrophic Super Typhoon Bavi's eyewall has reached Rota and is expected to bring dangerous winds, heavy rainfall and storm surge to Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Mike Callahan spent the day on the 12th at New Castle Elementary School talking about thunderstorms and severe weather safety. Even though it is just one week before Christmas vacation, the children were attentive and asked many good questions. Here is a photo showing Mike during the talk:

Mike talked to the entire third, fourth, and fifth grade classes, about 200 kids in three sessions. Below is a third grade class taking an opportunity to pose for the camera.
