Lingering Winter Weather in Interior New England; Snow Squalls Developing Downwind of the Lower Great Lakes

A wintry mix will continue in interior New England through tonight as a coastal storm quickly passes to the east. Heavy snow is expected in northern Maine, with a coating of ice expected for much of interior New England. Mike Callahan spent the day on the 12th at New Castle Elementary School talking about thunderstorms and severe weather safety. Even though it is just one week before Christmas vacation, the children were attentive and asked many good questions. Here is a photo showing Mike during the talk:
