Lake-effect Snow and Whiteout Conditions in the Great Lakes Region; Below-average Temperatures in the East

Heavy lake-effect and lake-enhanced snow will persist downwind of the Great Lakes and produce some whiteout conditions that could cause difficult travel conditions. A coastal low will produce moderate to heavy snow over parts of southern and eastern New England into the afternoon. Morning Lows Oct. 31 2023

Temperatures on the morning of Oct. 31, 2023 ranged from the low/mid 20s to 32 degrees across much of southern Indiana and central Kentucky. Through coordination with agricultural partners and neighboring offices, the Frost and Freeze Program has concluded for southern Indiana and central Kentucky areas served by the NWS in Louisville. The frost and freeze program will resume in the spring with the start of the growing season.
