Frigid Airmass to Bring Significantly Colder Temperatures; Snow Continues Downwind of the Great Lakes

A frigid cold airmass will bring significantly colder weather across the eastern two thirds of the country early this week. Record low temperatures are expected in the Southeast by Tuesday morning. No high temperatures records were broken on Sunday, but all sites reporting in southern Indiana and central Kentucky got into the 90s. 

We will close out September with another day of unseasonable heat, and more to come for the start of October.  

Records in jeopardy this week include the warmest September, the driest September, the driest month all-time, and the all-time warmest October day.
