Clear and Cooler Temperatures Across Much of the Eastern U.S.; Heavy Rain in Florida

A high pressure system is bringing mostly clear skies and cooler temperatures across much of the eastern U.S. to the Mid-South. A stationary front will produce thunderstorms and heavy rain across the Florida Peninsula to the immediate Southeastern coast. No high temperatures records were broken on Sunday, but all sites reporting in southern Indiana and central Kentucky got into the 90s. 

We will close out September with another day of unseasonable heat, and more to come for the start of October.  

Records in jeopardy this week include the warmest September, the driest September, the driest month all-time, and the all-time warmest October day.
