Clear and Cooler Temperatures Across Much of the Eastern U.S.; Heavy Rain in Florida

A high pressure system is bringing mostly clear skies and cooler temperatures across much of the eastern U.S. to the Mid-South. A stationary front will produce thunderstorms and heavy rain across the Florida Peninsula to the immediate Southeastern coast. There will be a total solar eclipse down visible from South America.  Totality will run from 4:38 to 4:44 PM EDT.  GOES-16 once again will be viewing this eclipse, and should look similar to the loop below we saved from the 2017 eclipse that ran across the U.S. August 21, 2017.
